IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF CHAMBERS COUNTY, ALABAMA

It is Ordered that the 2022 Spring Criminal Term of Court in Chambers County,
Alabama, shall be scheduled the weeks of March 28, 2022 and April 4, 2022.
The following dates have been scheduled for this term of Court:
February 18, 2022 at 9 a.m.- Arraignments
March 14, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Hearing on Youthful Offender applications
March 14, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Hearing on all pending motions
March 15, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Plea date (Defendants on bond)
March 16, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Plea date (Defendants incarcerated)
March 21, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Docket Call
April 29, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Youthful Offender trials
April 29, 2022 at 9 a.m. – Sentencing / Probation hearings
All Defendants indicted by the Spring 2022 Chambers County Grand Jury shall
appear before the Court on Plea Date. A writ of arrest will be issued for any newly
indicted Defendant not appearing on Plea Date.
The State as well as counsel for Defendants should file any motions no later than five (5)
days prior to the motions docket, including motions to continue.
Counsel for Defendants should file requests for subpoenas of witnesses no later than ten
(10) days prior to trial. The State should file its requests for subpoenas no later than seven (7)days prior to trial. In the event that subpoenas are not requested on or before these dates, then the Court will not routinely grant a continuance because of a witness being unavailable and may not compel the attendance of a witness receiving late notice.
All requested jury charges for the term of Court are to be submitted to the Court in
writing prior to the commencement of trial.
To ensure that Defendants are before the Court when scheduled, all counsel are directed
to inform the Circuit Clerk’s Office at least ten (10) days prior to the appropriate date if counsel is aware that he/she has a client currently incarcerated, regardless of whether said incarceration is within the Department of Corrections or within another county so that the Defendant may be transported to this county for hearing.
The Clerk of the Court is to forward a copy of this Order to all counsel of record for
criminal defendants, the Office of the District Attorney, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office & Jail Administrator, the Probation and Parole Office, the Court Referral Officer and the Community Corrections Director.
