Inmate stabbed to death at St. Clair Correctional Facility
Springville, Ala — An Alabama inmate has died this weekend after being discovered with multiple stab wounds inside of St. Clair Correctional Facility in Springville.
The Department of Corrections reports a fight broke out inside a prison housing area between two inmates at approximately 3:30 on Saturday afternoon.
Correctional officers found the victim, Terrance Andrews, 24, unresponsive with multiple stab wounds. He was later pronounced dead in the prison’s infirmary at 4:20.
Inmate Cedric Leshawn Davis, 35, has been identified as a suspect in Andrews’ death. He is currently serving time for a 2006 murder conviction in Baldwin County.
The victim, Andrews, was serving a 25-year sentence for a 2013 first-degree robbery in Mobile County.
The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the death and a murder charge against Davis is pending.
