Joint drug investigation leads to arrest

On March 7, 2019 the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force and Elmore County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a residence in the Kent area of Elmore County. The investigation began after the suspicious overdose death of an 18 year old in Tallapoosa County. An arrest warrant for Conspiracy to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime was obtained, along with several warrants by Elmore County Drug Task Force including Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Investigator recovered crystal meth and drug paraphernalia during the search. The joint effort was an accomplishment in the eyes of law enforcement but the investigation is far from over.

Arrested and charged with: Trafficking in Methamphetamine, two (2) counts of Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance, Conspiracy to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime, two (2) counts of Possession of Controlled Substance and two (2) counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was: Jeffery Scott Bottcher, 46 yoa, of Tallassee, Al.

The investigation in to the illegal trafficking, distribution and possession of narcotics is ongoing in Tallapoosa County.
