Customer shot during holdup at Phenix City Waffle House



A patron at a Phenix City restaurant was shot during an early-morning holdup.

The shooting happened just before 6 a.m. Monday at Waffle House on Summerville Road. Phenix City police Capt. Darryl “Joey” Williams said two black males entered the business and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of money.

One of the patrons was shot in the leg. The injury is not life-threatening, Williams said.

The shooting was captured on surveillance video, but police are not yet releasing that video. The investigation is ongoing, and more information could be released later today.
