TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. — A total of 51 dogs were rescued from a St. Clair County home last week.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrived at the home in Cropwell on Friday to perform a welfare check. 39 of the dogs were found inside the home while the other 12 were outside.
Additionally, 4 dead dogs were found in a freezer and another was found on the floor of the home.
The dogs were transported to the Pell City Animal Shelter for protective custody.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office says Paulette Perry is charged with cruelty to dogs and her bond will be $2,500. Perry is currently in the Talladega County Jail on unrelated charges.
