TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. — For two years a Talladega County woman has been pleading for answers in the gruesome death of her daughter.

The holidays are a difficult time for Amanda Simpson and her family since her daughter Michelle Haney was found dead on the side of the road.

“Somebody out there was there,” Simpson said. “They witnessed it. They know what happened, may have had a small part in it.”

Simpson says everyday she and her family are wondering what happened to Haney.

The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case.

Investigators say it’s been a difficult one to close because they do not believe Haney was killed in the location where her body was found on Turner Mill Road.

Deputies are still trying to piece together Haney’s whereabouts leading up to her death.

It’s a tough waiting game for the six children Haney left behind.

“‘They want to know who did this to her,” Simpson explained. “They want them punished. Please, please come forward and give them some answers. Give them closure.”

Simpson vows to continue pushing for answers in her daughter’s murder.

“I promise I will fight for you and your children til my very last breath,
Angel,” Simpson said about her daughter.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office at 256-761-2141.
