Human remains found Wednesday in Eufaula have been positively identified as those of a woman who had been missing since late July, police said Thursday.
The remains, found near downtown Eufaula, are those of Dawn Marie O’Brien, a 40-year-old Eufaula resident who was reported missing July 28, police said.
Her remains were found after a citizen reported finding skeletal remains Wednesday on the edge of a small field on West Union Street, police said. Investigators determined that the remains were a human adult. There were no indications or suspicions of foul play in O’Brien’s disappearance, according to police.
The Alabama Department of Forensic Science in partnership with the Barbour County Coroner’s Office and the Eufaula Police Department positively identified the skeletal remains.
