A 15-year old male has been arrested for making a terrorist threat against Elkmont High School, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office said they were notified Friday of a threat made on social media by a student. The teen, a student at the school, was arrested about an hour later.
“Making threats of violence against a school is a serious offense and will result in immediate action by law enforcement for the safety of all our children,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
In a Facebook post, Elkmont High School said it followed standard operating procedure in contacting law enforcement and students and staff resumed normal operations after the suspect was taken into custody.
