Alabama schools are delaying start times or canceling classes Tuesday due to heavy rains and flooding.
Two school systems – Jefferson County and Lawrence County – released students early Monday due to concerns over flooding.
Here is a list of schools delaying starts times for Tuesday. This list will be updated as more schools announce plans:

Alabaster City Schools – 2-hour delay
Altamont School – 2 hour delay
Attalla City Schools – Delayed until 9:30 a.m.
Anniston City Schools – Delayed 2 hours
Bessemer Academy – Delayed 2 hours
Bessemer City – Delayed until 10 a.m.
Bibb County – Delayed until 9:45 a.m.
Birmingham City Schools – 2-hour delay
Blount County Schools – 2-hour delay
Briarwood Christian – Opening at 10 a.m.
Calhoun County Schools – 2-hour delay
