A Cullman County sheriff’s deputy and his K9 partner were injured in a wreck during Tuesday morning’s heavy rains.
Sheriff’s officials said dispatchers lost contact with the deputy. His coworkers found the injured deputy a short time later. He had wrecked on Alabama 69 S and was unconscious.
The deputy was taken to an undisclosed hospital. His K9 was also injured and taken to a local veterinarian.
Authorities said more details will be released at a later time. Their statement read, “We ask for the community’s prayers for the deputy, his family and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.”
