Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Department of Revenue have announced a break for anyone still needing to file their taxes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Governor announced state tax filing deadlines have been extended three months.
The new deadline is July 15.
No interest or penalties will be charged during the extended period. This applies to everyone, including corporations.
Other taxes included in the deadline extension are corporate income tax, the financial institution excise tax, and the business privilege tax.
Governor Ivey says it is imperative that we reduce the burden on Alabamians and get folks back on their feet financially.
