Givorns Foods announced today that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is an employee at only the Fairfax Store and last reported to work on Sunday May 31, 2020.
The individual was last at work on May 31, 2020 and was sent home with a fever. The individual was tested on Monday June 1, 2020 and Givorns was notified of the positive test result late on Thursday June 4, 2020. 4 other staff who were in contact with the individual on Sunday are being tested. Staff currently working at the store are also being monitored for symptoms, taking appropriate precautions and practicing infection control to prevent further spread of the virus. The employee who tested positive for COVID-19 is recovering at home. In addition this employee was not involved with any preparation of any food products in the store.
“I wish our employee a quick and full recovery,” said General Manager Danny Crosby. “The swift action on the part of the staff at Givorns has helped contain the exposure with them disinfecting every surface possible in the store. We will continue to monitor our employees for symptoms to maintain the health and safety of those in our store.” Store owner Shelvie Givorns added “that our commitment is to the people of the community in providing a safe environment to shop and that transparency is key in demonstrating that.”
