Alabaster man faces 10 counts of child pornography charges (Shelby County)

According to the Pelham Police Department, 38-year-old, Anthony Ray Thomas Fitzhugh of Alabaster, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of Possession of Obscene Material Depicting Children under 17 with additional charges likely.

The Pelham Police Department said a joint investigation that included Alabaster Police and the Department of Homeland Security went on for several months.

Authorities said at the time of his arrest, Fitzhugh had several devices that contained child pornography and some of the devices even had similar material downloading during the arrest.

Detective Sgt. Brad Jordan released a statement regarding the arrest, “The exploitation of our children, both online and off, continues to be major focus of law enforcement,” Jordan added, “This arrest is the culmination of an investigation involving law enforcement from multiple agencies, coming together to combat this threat to our most vulnerable population.”
