MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WBMA) — According to Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, 59-year-old Gina Cook Gilbert was arrested for financial exploitation of an elderly person on Thursday, July 16.
Gilbert is charged with two counts of first-degree financial exploitation for taking property from Patricia Louise Cook Jerome in an “amount that exceeds $1,000,000.”
If convicted, Gilbert could be sentenced to up to 20 years with a minimum of two years for each count.
Gilbert is being held on a $60,000 cash bond.
