2 inmates escape from Calhoun County Jail because of ‘failed door lock’ (Anniston, AL)

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office reported that two inmates escaped the jail Friday morning becasue of a “failed door lock”.

On their Facebook page around 1:00 p.m. the sheriff’s office said the two inmates escaped sometime in the early morning hours.

Larry D. Gaither is described as a 43-year-old white man, 6’1″ tall, 186 lbs. He was in jail on parole violation for robbery, two counts of possession of child pornography, and two counts of dissemination of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bryant D. Johnson is described as a 31-year-old Black man, 5’8″ tall, 235 lbs. He was in jail for failure to appear for robbery, promoting prison contraband, and sodomy.

Anyone who sees either of these inmates should not approach them and call 911.
