FREE MEALS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL CHAMBERS COUNTY SCHOOL STUDENTS
All students currently enrolled in the Chambers County School District can now receive breakfast and lunch meals at their respective campuses free of charge, Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture passed a waiver that provides free meals to all students through December 31, 2020, based on available USDA funds.
“Any money now in a student’s account will remain in his/her account to be used for A-la-Carte and/or additional meals,” said Montray Thompson, Director of Child Nutrition.
Anyone wishing a refund for money that has already been deposited through “My School Bucks” should contact Mr. Thompson at [email protected], or call 334-864-9343, extension 10202.
Also, parents of children who qualify for free or reduced lunch should complete the application form located on the school district’s website at www.chambersk12.org. It is important that this form be completed prior to January, 2021, to retain eligibility status.
