The funeral service for Ellis Lamar Love, age 87 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Zenus Windsor and Rev. John Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery.
Mr. Love passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, he was employed as a lineman for the Alabama Power Company for 41 years during which he received numerous safety awards. Mr. Love was a United States Army veteran, a member of the Lineville Masonic Lodge 219 F&AM and a member of Barfield Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters: Lynn Wright of Oxford and Terri Curtin (Michael) of Madison; one brother, Charles Love of Surprise, AZ; four grandchildren: Jennifer Wright, Craig Wright (Anna), Joey Curtin (Ashley) and Brian Curtin (Joy) and four great-grandchildren, Brody Wright, Oliver, Emma and Lucas Curtin.
Mr. Love was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Love and Vetrice Dane Moleston Love; his wife of almost 60 years, Dean C. Love; one sister, Dorothy Hinkle and one brother, Hershel Love.
Pallbearers will be Craig Wright, Brody Wright, Mike Curtin, Monty Giddens and Jerry Jackson.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
