Funeral service for Tony Spratling, 56, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2019, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 605 W.E. Morton Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Reverend Jerry Dowdell will officiate.
Mr. Spratling, who passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his home in Opelika, AL, was born January 19, 1963 in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Sunday, March 3, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Family hour will be from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Spratling will lie in repose at the church one prior to the service.
Survivors include: two daughters, Tambra Hughley and Keandra Crawford both of Opelika, AL; father, John Henry Spratling of Opelika, AL; four sisters, Taletha (Gilbert) Dooley, Cindy Spratling, Gwendolyn Spratling and Wanda (Willie) Welch all of Opelika, AL; one brother, Willie Spratling of Chesapeake, VA; three uncles, Andrew Spratling of Dayton, OH, Willie George Brown of Birmingham, AL and Willie (Charlestine) Nelms of Opelika, AL; two aunts, Carrie (Cecil) Strickland of Opelika, AL and Mildred (Robert) Carey of Birmingham, AL; special niece, Tasha Reese of Opelika, AL, devoted cousin and friend, Wilbert C. Ward; a devoted companion, Edith Barnett of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
