Mr. Lonnie “Boot” Cammon, a resident of Opelika, AL and former resident of Lanett, AL, died Monday, March 25, 2019 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 12:00 Noon (EST) from Pine Hill Cemetery, Lanett, AL with Pastor Arthur Thomas officiating. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Mr. Lonnie Cammon was born February 20, 1928 to the late Mr. Frank Cammon and Mrs. Willie Lee Avery. At an early age he joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Cusseta, AL and served as an Usher. He was employed with West Point Pepperell and as a truck driver.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; four brothers; two nieces; four nephews; and, four step-sons. Mr. Cammon departed this life on Monday, March 25, 2019 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

His survivors include: one sister, Annie Cammon, Opelika, AL; four nieces, Deborah Walton, Opelika, AL, Lillie P. Walker and Annie R. Dixon both of Indianapolis, IN and Zannie Hill, Lanett, AL; three nephews, Eddie L. Patrick, Cleveland, OH, George Jackson and Roger Jackson both of Lanett, AL; a special great-niece, Janice Potts, Lanett, AL; daughter-in-law, Thelma Bailey, Lanett, AL; five grandsons; three granddaughters; and, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
