Funeral services for Mary Hilyer Kytan, age 87 of Mellow Valley, will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 10 A.M. at County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Kytan, Rev. Scott Jordan and Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Kytan passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Clay County Hospital in Ashland. Born in Coosa County, she moved to Clay County in 1938 and graduated from Mellow Valley High School in 1950. She was a homemaker and farmer and a longtime, active member of County Line Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kytan is survived by two children: LuAnne Grogan of Oxford and Mack Kytan (Brenda) of Mellow Valley; 4 – grandchildren, Richie Grogan, Nathan Kytan (Erica), Jessica Kytan and Lindsay Kytan; one great-grandchild, McKinley Kytan, and a large extended family friends and church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Henry Franklin Hilyer and Ola Bearden Hilyer, and husband, Richard “Dick” Kytan, sister, Leah Hilyer and brothers, Grover, Glaston, Neal, and infant Grady Hilyer.
Active Pallbearers will be: Chris Nunn, Nathan Kytan, Richie Grogan, Dale Rush, Rickey Robertson, David Rush, Buddy Childers, Adam Robertson, and Glenn Kennedy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her County Line Baptist Church Family
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 10 at the church.
