Preceded in death by his parents and his wife Susie Nerine (Pemberton) Cannon and his son James Edward (Eddie) Cannon. Mr. Cannon had two brothers – Mamon Cannon and Chester Cannon (wife Gladys).
Mr. Cannon is survived by son Gerald Lee (Jerry) Cannon and his wife Charlotte (Ballard) Cannon of New Orleans, LA. He has one grandson – Christopher Lee (Chris) Cannon and his wife Elizabeth (Sorrio) Cannon and their children Kayle Nichol, Mason Avery, and Addison Paisley of Maylene, AL. He has a daughter-in-law, Barbara (Shockley) Cannon of Millbrook, AL.
Mr. Cannon retired from the City of Alexander City after thirty years of service. He held several jobs over the years, including water plant operator, construction supervisor, maintenance superintendent, and building inspector. He served several years on the city planning commission and was secretary of the planning commission and board of adjustment. He was a volunteer fireman and a charter member of the rescue squad.
Mr. Cannon was a member of Comer Memorial Baptist Church and a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Alexander City.
Mr. Cannon volunteered in the Army Air Force during World War II. He served as a photographer and photo lab technician.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling with his travel trailer as he continued with his photography.
Funeral Service for Mr. Jesse Lee Cannon, 105, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
