Funeral Service for Mrs. Cynthia Cotney Davis, 62, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Jackson’s Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jackson’s Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Jackson’s Gap Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 31, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to James Everett Cotney, Sr. and Mary Mitchell Cotney. She was an active member of Jackson’s Gap Baptist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school, VBS and played the piano. She was an avid horse lover and volunteered at Camp ASCCA for many years. She loved reading, needlework, and hosting tea parties for her granddaughters. She had a passion for music and collecting PEZ candy dispensers.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Gary M. Davis of Jacksons Gap; daughters, Carrie Eckhardt (Conrad) of Woodstock, AL and Kim Morse (Shane) of Jacksons Gap; grandchildren, Caden Dillard, Blair Morse, Harley Eckhardt, Serenity Eckhardt, Trinity Eckhardt, Grace Eckhardt, Sean McMullen, Jaxon Eckhardt, Jay Burton and Riggs Eckhardt; brother, Jim Cotney (Laura) of Alexander City; nieces, Allison Cotney Collar (Will) of Atlanta, Abby Cotney of Atlanta and Tess Cotney Field (Jake) of Dallas, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
