The Obituary for Mr. J.B. “Butch” Wilson (Coosa / Tallapoosa Counties)


Funeral Service for Mr. J.B. “Butch” Wilson, 71, of Rockford, Alabama, will be Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Union Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Crumbley, Rev. Jeff Hardy, Rev. Jason Gravette, and Rev. Tommy Edmondson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Union Baptist Church.

Mr. Wilson passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home. He was born on January 17, 1948 in Chilton County, Alabama to Winford William Wilson and Edna Rosa Lee Wilson. He was a deacon at Union Baptist Church. He was a proud Chilton County High School Tiger and was a member of the first team to play in Tiger Stadium. His lifelong passion was driving his log truck. As a member of the Chilton Baptist Builders, he helped build 10 churches across the U.S. He enjoyed watching Alabama football and eating banana pudding and fried chicken.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra S. Wilson; daughters, Christy Crumbley (Ronny), and Angela Wilson; sons, Joshua Wilson (Sara Giedinghagen) and Bill Wilson (Tanya); grandchildren, Christopher Crumbley (Jillian), Lee Crumbley, Madilyn Wilson, Natalee Wilson, and Jeremiah Brayden Wilson; nephews, Caylan Sallas, and T.J. Sallas; and mother-in-law, Mavis Sallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Faye Littleton; brothers, Dasel Wilson, Hansel Wilson, Billy Wayne Wilson, and Jimmy Lewis Wilson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Chilton Baptist Builders. A GoFundMe has been set up for this purpose under Butch Wilson Memorial Fund.
