The Obituary for Mrs. Vivian Flowers of Lineville (Clay County)


The funeral service for Mrs. Vivian Flowers, age 70 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. Chris Jackson and Bro. Brandon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the New Harmony Christian Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Flowers passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and after living some of her life in Heflin, she had lived the most of her life in Clay County with her husband. Mrs. Flowers worked at Higgins Manufacturing, as a secretary at Coburn Communications, and as an X-Ray technician at Clay County Hospital. When she was younger, she was active in sports, playing Powder Puff and Flag football, women’s softball, and was a cheerleader for 6 years. Mrs. Flowers was drawn to football. She loved watching Alabama Football, and loved attending and watching her grandson’s football games. Mrs. Flowers loved to cook. She would cook a family meal every Sunday night, which included her famous fried chicken that her family adored. She could make a Pound Cake that would make you go, “mmm mmm mmm!,” and her Friday night Chili was always something to look forward too.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mickey Flowers; three sons: Rodney Flowers (Mona), Don Flowers (Marsha), Wesley Flowers (April), all of Lineville; seven grandchildren: Coty Flowers (Hannah), Hunter Flowers, Tiara Flowers, Haylea Flowers, Tylor Flowers, Dawson Flowers, and Hannah Flowers; five great-grandchildren: Cohan Flowers, Hudson Flowers, Kasen Flowers, Josie Brown and one on the way; one sister, Vicky Blanton (Roy) of Heflin; her father-in-law, W.I. Flowers of Lineville; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Johnson Crawford and Lowell Johnson Crawford; two brothers: Danny and Keith Crawford.

Active pallbearers will be Coty Flowers, Hunter Flowers, Tylor Flowers, Dawson Flowers, Phillip Blanton and Lucas Crawford.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and until service time Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
