Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha A. Jennings Keith, age 84 of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Lineville Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Curlee and Bro. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville at 2:30 P.M.
Mrs. Keith passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at her home. Born in Birmingham, she was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham in 1953. After graduating, she worked as a Clerk for the Stern, A.G. & Leach Investment Office. After marrying her husband, she followed him around the world, living in different states and countries because of his work. Mrs. Keith grew up in church and singing in the choir at Ruhama Baptist Church in the East Lake community in Birmingham. She loved to Cross Stitch; she made friends easily, and was an active member of Lineville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William B. Keith of Lineville; her daughter, Glenna Sue Freeman of Oxford; her son, Russell Louis Keith (Virginia) of Douglasville, GA; two grandchildren: William Russell Freeman (Cassie) and Andrea Elizabeth Payne, both of Oxford; two great-grandchildren: Athena Diane Freeman and Destiny Rae Payne, both of Oxford; two sisters: Mildred Davis of Birmingham; and Phyllis Watkins of Franklin, TN; plus several nieces and nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vann Philma Jennings and Mildred Elizabeth Putman.
Active Pallbearers will be the deacons of Lineville Baptist Church.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of Clay County and the caregivers of Mrs. Martha.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. She will lie in state one hour at Linevile Baptist church from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
