The Obituary for Mrs. Mary Frances Mixon (Tallapoosa County)


Funeral Service for Mrs. Mary Frances “Browneyes” Mixon, 86, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, February 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Pastor Stacy Tuttle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mary passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born on October 10, 1933 in Dadeville, Alabama to Annie Laura McGhee Branch. She loved the lord and was a longtime member of The Church of the Nazarene. She was a strong, loving woman that had a way of making everyone feel special. There was no place she would rather be than spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann Strickland of Alexander City, Susie Whitfield (Sylane) of Pell City, Mary M. Jones of Huntsville, Shelia M. Watts of Huntsville, Marie M. Arighi of Huntsville; sons, James Michael Mixon (Tammy) of Ringgold, GA and John Robert Mixon of Alexander City; grandchildren, Amy, Jeff, Charity, Diane, Byron, Jenny, Tina, Zach, Kyle, Alex, Teri Jo, Chad, Tanya, Jennie, Joel, Jessica and Frankie; fourteen great grandchildren; and sister, Laura Jean Abercrombie (Ray).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward Bruce Mixon; sons, Edward Cortez Mixon, and Arnold Joel Mixon; mother, Annie Laura Branch; brother, Robert Jack Branch; and grandson Philip Wayne Strickland.
