Funeral Services for Mr. Huey Grifﬁn, age 76, of Daviston, will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Beneﬁeld Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. David Holcombe and Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Grifﬁn passed away on March 3, 2020 at his residence. A Lifelong resident of Clay County, he worked as a loom technician at Amaco Fabrics for over 20 years. A hard working man, he loved to spend most of his off time gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When his grandson Jason was younger, they would spend a lot of time fishing together, and driving to Georgia to pick up lottery tickets.
He is survived by two sons: Huey Lynn Griffin (Melanie) of Daviston, and William Glenn “Ted” Griffin of Cragford; two grandchildren: Jason Griffin (Christy) and Jodi Kilbourne (Eric), both of Lineville; nine great-grandchildren: Karley, Jaxon, Jadon, Owen, Stetson, Sara, Abigail, Jackson, and Samuel; three brothers: Willie Frank Griffin (Josie) of Longmont, CO, David Carl “Hotshot” Griffin (Paula) of Cragford, and Kirby Eugene Griffin of Alexander City; one sister, Betty Gay Barber (Wayne) of Jacksons Gap; plus a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Benjamin Franklin Griffin and Abbie Lee Mask Griffin; one great-granddaughter, Makayla Griffin; and four brothers: Bobby Lee Griffin, James Cecil Griffin, William Howard Griffin, and Curry Joe Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Huey Lynn Griffin, William Glenn “Ted” Griffin, Jason Griffin, Wayne Barber, Derek Barber, David Griffin, Chris Parker, and Donald Macon.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and until service time at 2:00 P.M.
