Mrs. Dorothy J. Pinkard Parrish, age 79, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. She was born on August 25th, 1940 in West Point, Georgia to the late Edward W. Pinkard and Dovie Anice Pinkard.
Mrs. Parrish is survived by her children, Eddie (Susan) Parrish, Debbie Bassett, Tina (Jeff) Hutchins, and Terri Brown; grandchildren, Robin Croft, Adam Parrish, James Bassett, Jason Bassett, April Hutchins, Josh Hutchins, Austin Brown, Brodee Brown, and Tabitha Nelson; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, William Pinkard, Billy Pinkard, and Sylvia Yarbrough.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Parrish; daughter, Brenda Core; brother, Jake Pinkard.
Mrs. Parrish was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut. She enjoyed birdwatching, especially Hummingbirds. She was referred to as “Nanny” by most who knew her. She loved the Lord, and enjoyed hugging and visiting with family and friends.
Due to social gathering restrictions, funeral services will be private.
