Mr. Bobby L. Williams, age 84, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 21st, 2020 at his residence in Lanett. He was born on December 9th, 1935 in River View, Alabama to the late Winfred and Edna Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Patricia Tucker Williams; children, Donna (Ken) Rearden, Neal Williams; grandchild, Jacie (Zach) Thompkins; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Mason Thompkins; siblings, Dee (Sammy) White, Joe (Charlene) Williams, Gwendy (Arnold) Bell; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Max Williams.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Lanett First Christian Church where he served as an elder and he taught Sunday school for twenty years there. He worked for Valley National Bank for twenty-five years and later served as the Lanett City Manager for twelve years. He also served as chairman of the board of the Lanett City Schools for fifteen years. After retirement, he served on the CVWS board, and was Chairman of the CCDA. H was currently serving as Chaplain for the City of Lanett.
He loved the Lord Jesus, his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, his special friends, Ken and Annette Rearden, Kyle McCoy, Al Pearce, Shirley Motley, and his many friends at the CCDA, CVWS, Valley National Bank, Lanett First Christian Church and the City of Lanett.
Due to the current social gathering restrictions, funeral services will be private.
A Celebration of Life honoring Mr. Williams will be planned and announced at a later date.
