Graveside services for Mr. Tommy Hanners, age 64 of Lineville, was held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery (Lineville) with Bro. Phillip Holloway officiating.
Mr. Hanners passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he was a graduate of the 1973 class at Mellow Valley High school. He spent his life working as the owner of Hanners Logging Company and was an avid cattleman. He loved watching his grandsons play football and basketball, and doing anything with his grandchildren. Mr. Hanners had been attending Mt. Gilead Community Church and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Mike Hanners (Tasha) of Lineville; his daughter, Sherry Flowers (Heath) of Grady; his sisters, Dianne Stewart and Peggy Logan; his brother, Steve Hanners, all of Lineville; six grandchildren: Briana Allen, Austin “Bubba” Flowers, Matthew Hanners, Ethan Hanners, Braxton Hanners, and Alyssa Hanners; his daughter-in-law, Stacey Hanners Fuller of Cragford; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adron Dee and Evelyn McVey Hanners; his wife of 47 years, Kay Harris Hanners; and his son, John Hanners.
Active pallbearers were Tyler Hanners, Ben Hanners, Brandon Stephens, Mikie Belcher, Will McVey, Steve McGraw, Todd Looser, Jarrod Allen, and Austin Flowers.
Honorary pallbearers were Matthew, Ethan and Braxton Hanners.
