The Obituary for Mr. Charles Houston Plott (Clay County)


Graveside services for Mr. Charles Houston “Chuck” Plott, age 96 of Lineville, was held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Ivy Creek Cemetery in Rutledge, AL at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Tony Harris officiating.


Mr. Plott passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Bill Nichols State Veteran Home. Born in Elmore County, he graduated from Elmore County High School and later lived all over Alabama as well as Alaska. He was enlisted in the Air Force for 21 years, where he served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a vehicle mechanic and also a road equipment supervisor for the highway department in Muscle Shoals. Chuck loved to garden and rabbit hunting when he was a kid.


He is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Mitchell (Jimmy Ray) of Cragford; three grandchildren: Jeffrey Raymond Mitchell (Shalena), Jared Brandon Mitchell (Kerri) and Jake Trevor Mitchell (Crystal); five great-grandchildren: Gaven, Easton, Cannan, Madalynn and Hasten Mitchell; his nieces, nephews and extended family.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Boss Plott and Abby Jane Porter Plott; his wife, Mamie Ruth “Polly” Plott; one brother and three sisters.


Friends and Family served as pallbearers.
