Ms. Alma Mozell Jones, 101, a resident of Smiths Station, Alabama, died Thursday, June 25, 2020 at her residence.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Valley, AL with Pastor James Hill officiating. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.
Public Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.
Alma Mozell Jones, affectionately called “Momo”, was born January 1, 1919 to Carrie Jones and George Colquitt in the Lee County (Motts), Alabama. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Valley where she was a faithful member.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two daughters, Carrie Lee Sharpe and Mary Alice Jones; grandson, Willie Joe Murphy; two great-grandsons, Joey C. Dunn and Rodney Hughley. Ms. Jones transitioned home peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was 101 years of age.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: her daughter, Lizzie M. Taylor, Smiths Station, AL; grandchildren, Sandretta (Benjamin) Cook, Miranda Wimberly, Adrian Wimberly, Renay Wimberly and Melody Brown all of Smiths Station, AL, Michelle Henderson, Phenix City, AL, Joe (Sabrina) Wimberly, Valley, AL, Christopher Brown, Lanett, AL and Gretchen (Travis) Floyd, Hogansville, GA; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
