Graveside services for Mr. Richard Olen “Ricky” Williams, age 59 of Ashland, were held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Luker and Doyle Smith officiating.

Mr. Williams passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Grandview Medical Center. Mr. Williams was born in the year 1960 in Talladega, Alabama and he was a lifelong resident of Clay County, Alabama. In 1979, he graduated from Clay County High School and married his high school sweetheart, to which he had three children: Robbie, Jennifer and Jamie. He later then met and married the love of his life, Cheryl Johnston. After being married for 10 years along came his youngest child Grace. During his teenage years, he worked in construction and pulpwood and was a volunteer firefighter for the Millerville Fire Department. In 1983, he started working at Madix Inc. where he worked 19 years. He then went on to work for Truwood Cabinets for a couple of years. In 2004, Mr. Williams, and his two brothers, David Williams and Larry Williams, along with Jamie Williamson started Integrity Cabinets LLC that they have run successfully for 16 years. Mr. Ricky was an active member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where he has been a member for many years. Mr. Ricky enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was riding the pontoon boat, sitting at home, or playing cards. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Robbie and daughter Grace. He loved sitting beside a bonfire with his grandchildren while roasting marshmallows, listening to music and watching them play. He was a very dedicated and loved son, brother, uncle, husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed by so many but have left behind a legacy that no one will ever forget.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cheryl Williams of Ashland; three daughters: Jennnifer McVey (Jamie) of Mellow Valley, Jamie Nicole Dingler (Patrick) of Shinbone and Grace Williams of Ashland; his son, Robbie Williams (Tanya) of Mt. Zion Community; eight grandchildren: Ashton Williams, Ashlynn Kensleigh Williams, Breanna Taylor (Tanner), Jordan McVey, Makenlee Mcvey, Kate McVey, Avery McVey and Jackson Dingler; one great-grandson, Oaklee Taylor; his mother, Nona Fay Williams Brown of Ashland; three sisters: Angie East, Maggie Smith (Brad), all of Ashland and Karen Lovins (Jeff) of Robertsdale; three brothers: Glen Williams (Melinda), David Williams and Basil Williams, all of Ashland; his sister-in-law, Teresa Henderson (Gary) of Ashland; his brother-in-law, Michael Johnston (Jessica) of Witchita, KS; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Olen Williams and his step father, Art Brown.

Active pallbearers were: Bobbie Williams, Glen Williams David Williams, Basil Williams, Ashton Williams, Jacob Williams, Peyton Davidson and Jarred Henderson.

Honorary pallbearers were: Jimmy Williamson, Larry Williams, Butch Sprayberry, Colby Hilyer, Bob Langley, Bob Sergen, Jeremy East, Barkley East, Buddy Childers, Rickey Robertson, and Alan Ryals.

Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland was in charge of the arrangements.
