The Obituary for Mr. Stephen Kyle Atkins (Tallapoosa County)


Funeral Service for Mr. Stephen Kyle Atkins, 21, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church Dadeville. Rev. David Floyd, Rev. Charlie Horton, and Rev. Britt Green will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm at First Baptist Church Dadeville.

Mr. Atkins passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. He was born on June 1, 1999 in Opelika, Alabama to Scott Atkins and Cree Griffith Atkins. He was saved and baptized at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was a Christian young man that really loved his Lord.

Kyle was a hard worker, enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He worked as a mechanic at Thompson Tractor and had a hay business on the side. Kyle graduated from Dadeville High School in 2017, was a member of the baseball team, and was President of the FFA Chapter his senior year. He loved his dogs, Willa, Dixie, and Buster.

He is survived by his parents, Scott and Cree Atkins of Dadeville; brother, Seth Atkins of Dadeville; best friend, Walker Banks; grandparents, Wayne Griffith of Daviston and Kathleen Atkins of Dadeville; uncles, Doug Atkins (Ann) and Wendell Atkins both of Dadeville; aunt, Athina Ryals (Keith) of Eclectic; and cousins, Brian and Ashley Atkins, Kimberly and Lee Pitchford, and Levi Ryals.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Diane Griffith; grandfather, Wayne Atkins; aunt, Carolyn Atkins; cousin, Madeline Taylor.
