Graveside Service for Mr. Stanley Albert Prophitt, age 74, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Liberty Holiness Church Cemetery with Pastor Stacy Tuttle officiating.
On Sunday November 29, 2020 our loving brother Stanley Albert Prophitt at age 74 peacefully left this earthly jar of clay and received his new body and entered his heavenly home. Stanley Albert Prophitt was born on May 27, 1946 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Willie Albert Prophitt and Eunice Pauline Prophitt, the oldest of 7 boys. On October 20, 1966 he entered the Army and served a tour in Vietnam and was awarded a honorable discharge after his faithful service.
Stanley was a wonderful and loving big brother, brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. He
had a passion for His God and loved his Lord and Savior deeply. Stanley developed deep and lasting friendships over the years as a young man, growing up in the Alex City Church of God of Prophecy now LifePoint Church. He had an unwavering commitment to the Youth Life team and many other church activities, as he grew learning about the love and grace of Jesus. These friendships have lasted over his lifetime and he frequently shared and vividly recalled, the wonderful memories he made with so many family and friends. Stanley would say today “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.” Stanley was an avid photographer if you ever spent time with him then there is a picture of you somewhere in his picture albums. Stanley remained an active member of the Alexander City Church of God of Prophecy now LifePoint Church and taught Sunday School for many years as a gifted teacher until a promise he made to his Dad needed to be fulfilled. Stanley promised his Dad he would take care of mom, and he did so from 1985, then several years ago her eventual decline required a different level of response and dedication to provide the loving care to mom that he had promised so many years ago. 2 Corinthians 5:8-9 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that whether present or absent we may be accepted of him.”
Stanley is preceded in death by his father, Willie Prophitt; mother, Pauline Prophitt; brother
Arlen Prophitt and 2 newborn brothers, Charles Prophitt and Timothy Prophitt; great-
nephew Elijah Prophitt; and sister-in-law, Janet Prophitt. Stanley shared over the last several months that he hoped that the Lord would just come and get him and mom, so today please Celebrate him home, Celebrate him there, Celebrate him in that land of wonder where nothing can compare, Celebrate him in that place, Celebrate him saved grace. CELEBRATE HIM HOME!
