Bernice Helen Babbitt, age 98, of Wedowee, formerly of Ellenton, FL, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, at Traylor’s Nursing Center in Roanoke.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shirron Soohey of Wedowee; two sons, Donnie S. Wilson of Indiana and Jimmy K. Wilson of Florida; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-geat-grandchild; and one sister, Estelle Austgen of Indiana.
A North Carolina native, Mrs. Babbitt was born on November 25, 1922, the daughter of James Mark and Hester Nix Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Kay W. Wilson and Paul Babbitt; one son, Richard Wilson; one sister and four brothers.
The family will hold a private memorial service in Florida at a later date.
