Mrs. Kathy Tines Pickard, 61, of Lanett, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Pickard was born September 2, 1959, at Ft. Riley, KS, daughter of the late James Everett Tines and Faye Henry Tines. She earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration, was employed as an occupational nurse for the Southern Company since 2007, and was previously employed as a nurse at the Carter-Lanier Division of West Point Pepperell. A member of the Alabama Nursing Association, she loved being a nurse, enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, and attending her widows support group.
Survivors include her daughter, Lauren Pickard and Russell Nelson of Lanett; son, Jim Pickard of Pensacola, FL; sister, Teresa and Joe Doughtie of Valley; brothers, Everett Tines of Lanett, Eddie and Angela Tines of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Samuel David Pickard, Jr.; and her sister in-law, Angie Tines.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. (EST), Thursday, January 28, at the graveside in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett, with the Reverend Erik Mays officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Wednesday night at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett, AL.
