Graveside Services for Mr. Barron Luker, age 88 of Lineville, were held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Center West Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Bray and Rev. David Holcombe officiating.
Mr. Luker passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home. Mr. Luker grew up in Delta and accepted Christ as a young man and he enjoyed going to church and serving God. He then met the love of his life, Vera, and married one year later. They had a beautiful marriage of 68 years. They had one child, Steven Luker who was their pride and joy. Barron started working in the valley and they lived there for 36 years where he worked as an engineer at the West Point Foundry and B & W Works. He moved back to his hometown of Lineville and worked for Wellborn Cabinets until he retired. He was a member of Center West Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by a host of friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vera Lois Brown Luker of Lineville; one granddaughter, DeAnne Shull (Chad) of Huntsville; four great-grandchildren: Garrett Shull (Kambry) of Huntsville, Blair Shull (Drew Hill) of Madison, Mary Kate Long (Caleb) of Guntersville, and Rachel Shull of Huntsville; one great-great-grandchild on the way; one special niece, Hilda Key; one special nephew, Keith Luker; and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Young Luker and Maebell Morrison; one son, Steven Morris Luker; three sisters: Lillian Luker Foster, Maedean Luker Smith, and Guinnell Luker; one infant sister; and one brother, Luna Luker.
Active Pallbearers will be: Tim Brown, Keith Luker, Freddy Brown, Randy Wilson, Kenneth Calhoun, and Chris Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers were Watts East, Jeff Fuller, and Tedd Brown.
