The Obituary for Mr. Randy Parmer (TN, formerly of Chambers County, AL)


Randy (a.k.a. Block or Blockhead) Parmer age 60 of Smyrna died Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was a native of Douglas, Georgia and was preceded in death by his parents, James Gerald Parmer and Montine Townsend Parmer.

Randy attended Lanett High School and graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University. He was lifelong member in the Church of the Nazarene. His service included: Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, Senior Pastor, a member of The District NYI Council and Co-Director of SoloCon. Most recently Randy was employed by Kroger and served as an Associate Pastor at Smyrna Church of the Nazarene. His personal passion was his online video blog, “Not So Crazy Talk”, which will be his ministry legacy sharing the gospel through his own unique and whimsical perspective.

From the youngest to the eldest he was a friend to all. He rarely met a stranger that didn’t become a friend. Randy’s light shown brightly in this world.  Each life he touched was illuminated with the love of Christ as he shared part of himself with all he encountered. Randy loved big and lives were made better as a result.

He is survived by his sister, Joy Moore and husband Paul; brother, Danny Parmer and wife Diandra; nephews:  Brent Moore, Cory Moore, Caleb Parmer, Coen Parmer; nieces:  Lindsey (Allen) Stone, Amanda (Owen) Finch, Kailey Parmer. Great nephews:  Matthew Garner, Liam Pleasant, Jase Moore, August Stone.  Great nieces:  Alexa Garner, Leah Garner, Londyn Garner and Macie Finch.

Visitation on Friday, February 26th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM and a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM on Saturday will be held at Bethel Church of the Nazarene (455 Broadmoor Dr, Nashville, TN).
