Geraldine Ann Talley beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and proud grandmother passed away at East Auburn Medical Center from post-surgery complications and pneumonia. Born November 28, 1933 and graduated from Talmadge High School in Akron, OH. She went on to graduate from Kent State in Art Education and she became an Art Teacher in the Akron Public Schools.
In 1956, she married James Paul Talley of Pontotoc, Mississippi and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. They were married in Akron, and would move to Los Altos, CA, Auburn, and Irvine, CA, and return back to Auburn for Paul’s job at Ampex Corp where Gerri took a position at Auburn University Agriculture Administrative office as an Executive Secretary.
She was heavily involved with her community of Auburn for the last 40 years and loved art, food, and wine and was part of many different gourmet dinner groups. She was active with the Auburn First Presbyterian Church in the Women’s Circle, in the past as Flower coordinator, and in the church’s involvement bringing layettes for new mothers, now named the Gerri Talley Layette Program. Her character was kind, helpful, gracious, and always had a positive outlook on life.
Gerri is survived by her husband Paul Talley, sister Brenda Duke of San Francisco, CA; daughters Susan Talley of San Diego, CA and Leslie Talley- Sagunsky (Gary), of Carlsbad, CA, granddaughters: Brooke (UCLA) and Kara Sagunsky (Cal Poly SLO) of Carlsbad, CA
Anyone who is interested in celebrating Gerri’s life may join us at First Presbyterian Church of Auburn at 43 E. Thatch Ave on Saturday, Oct 23 at noon for services followed by patio reception.
